Corned-beef Hash with Fried Eggs
It’s not often I wake up on a Sunday morning with the inspiration to cook something I’d seen on a TV cooking show. Then again it’s not often I buy something as expensive as corned beef in this country, at 160 baht a tin this wasn’t a cheap one. It’s also not often that I’m so impressed with something I’ve cooked that I feel the urge to blog it.
If you do anything this week, try this awesome breakfast/lunch/dinner item out. Spectacularly nice, and easy to cook too.

Crazy Uses For Coca Cola!
No really this is a mine of useful information associated with our favourite brown corporate liquid that used to be made from cocaine. You might otherwise like to pretend I didn’t send you to a shitty tripod hosted site with some of the most unimaginative design I’ve ever seen.
Ah well, sometimes content is king on the Interweb.

growabrain: “Thai Nakorn”
Miang Kam is one of those off the wall Thai foods that defies description. It’s a DiY leaf wrap, with dried coconut, cubed lime, chillies, dried shrimp and sweet fish sauce. Really tastey stuff.

Roulette Chocolate
Fantastic and novel gift idea. A box of delicious looking praline chocolates…but no; one of them contains what the Thai’s call a ratshit chillie. Ouch ouch ouch. Sounds like a fun party game anyway.
In a similar vein, check out Shocking Roulette, where up to 4 people insert their finger into a small device which chooses it’s “victim” at random and delivers a harmless shock via 3 AAA batteries. Apparently great for deciding those important things in life like who gets the next round in, or who’s turn it is to do the washing up.
One photo on there even pictures people inserting tongues instead of their fingers.

Yay! It’s mangosteen season, and I’ve spend the last week putting as many of them into my oversized gut as I can before the ridiculously short season is over. Kan and I have eaten 4kg in the last 2 days!
Imagine if you can, a fruit which looks like a manky beetroot on the outside, but has these amazing translucent melt in the mouth segments inside which taste like a cross between a peach and a strawberry. Utterly amazing.
The funny thing is, the dodgier they look on the outside, and some look positively diseased with this yellowy milky sap blotched everywhere, the better they generally they are on the inside.
Pure heaven! Fully deserving of the title ‘The Queen of Fruit’…possibly more so than her husband the King of Fruit AKA the very stinky, spikey and scarey durian, which I can’t stand and doesn’t deserve anymore of my blogspace.
