Music-Map - The tourist map of music
This is briliant if you can’t think of anything to download (as I frequently can’t) when confronted with a search field on your favourite P2P app.
Enter your favourite artists and a whole bunch of related artists will start ogranising themselves according to how likely you are to enjoy them based on your first search.

Diary
Just a quick message to anyone concerned that I’ve been swept away by tsunamis. I’m on completely the opposite side to where it happened, and what’s more I snored through the whole force 9.0 earthquake too.
Still thanks to the various friends and family for being concerned, but school entirely prevented me from taking Xmas holidays to Andaman coastal resorts. A few friends of mine were caught up in it, but so far, thank goodness, no-one I know has been killed.
Nasty stuff…the current toll could be upto 100,000.

World Wide Words
Very interesting site which seems to focus chiefly on how idioms came to be.
It’s written from a British perspective, but takes on words and phrases from all over the world.
I have now learned tonightthat “the dreaded lurgi” - a common British term used to denote an unspecified disease started out on 1950’s radio in the Goon Show as a sketch and was probably written by Spike Milligan. It subsequently became a popular playground taunt and a generation or two later it’s still being used.

OpenOffice
Fed up with Microsoft Word telling you what you want to do with your word processing?
Here’s a radical concept.
Get a new word processor.
Oh but what if I can’t open all my Word documents in it?
Good job the fantastic Open Office is 100% compatible with the .doc format, and for that matter all the Microsoft Office formats are compatible with all the programmes in this fantastic free suite..
There’s a spreadsheet, a powerpoint equivalent, it’s compatable with all decent DBs, and there’s load of other little features like an html editor, formulae generator.
Guess what? It’s free.
Get it and you’ll never use Microshite Office again…I haven’t…

Fined $250 for harrassment of public officials
Hehehe…liked this story found via Fark.
A whole new twist on sticking it to the man.
The interesting bit is that this is a psychiatrist.
What fascinating advice he must give.

Dante’s Inferno
A map of Dante’s Inferno….which is of course clikable and zoominable.
Wanting to know where I’d end up I ended up doing one of those dreadful meme things. It’s the city of Dis for me I’m afraid heretic that I am.
The Dante’s Inferno Test has banished you to the Sixth Level of Hell - The City of Dis!
Here is how you matched up against all the levels:
Take the Dante’s Inferno Hell Test
