A Sense of Normality

A sense of normality returned to the Worzone to day, as the sinking feeling must have occured to more than just the farrang teachers….oh shit it’s September and we’ve done next to bugger all for the last month.

My September schedule introduced to my class today was a bit of a shock…one test on Thursday followed by speaking tests all next week. Just has to be done just to complete the first semester’s curriculum before..yes..again, the finel test on the week beginning 20th September…all dates take into account that at least 20 percent of students will miss the first time around with the speaking test.

Ajarn Forum continues to take up waay too much of my time.

Tree-like Mesage Board

Ecotonoha is a quirky but beautiful message board concept where each message frorms a branch of a tree. Very new age sounding but fascinating to watch. You can only make one message per day, but it’s kind of cool.

What Happens If I…?

A series of very silly experiments with little scientific value but amusing nonetheless. We’re talking, blowtorching eggs, toilet rolls through shredders, and whole cucumbers down the waste disposal.

What’s with me this week, I just cannot muster the energy to even blog something from B3ta this week. To add to my woes Firefox has just vanished all of my Bookmarks including my lovely RSS feed list. Ajarnforum is going well, though it’s taking up way to much of my spare time so my pet project slike this are not really happening. Well, lets get some stuff blogged.

5 1/4″ Cake Drive

PC EZ-Bake Oven

For lack of DVD writers in Thailand, I have either the option of replacing my crappy E drive with either a DVD reader, or maybe this, were it to exist in this country. It sits in one of those holes for disk drives runs off your PC power supply and bakes tiny 3 bite cakes.

Also included is “PC Ez-Cook”, the open-source oven controller software with hundreds of easy and creative recipes for your PC Ez-Bake oven, and even a fuzzy-logic cooking control system to precisely measure the doneness of your cake, cookie, or cheese souffle. The PC Ez-Bake oven can even be used to cook your Pop Tarts, Bagel Bites, or any tiny or flat food. YUM!

Though it may also be worth mentioning that it was an April Fools Joke ( and no I didn’t hit post BEFORE I discovered this. Unlike Mr RSS)

Gmail Notifier

The Gmail Notifier is a downloadable Windows application that alerts you when you have new Gmail messages. It displays an icon in your system tray to let you know if you have unread Gmail messages, and shows you their subjects, senders and snippets, all without your having to open a web browser.

I love my new Google widgets me….
